In a legal victory, a group of Palestinian farmers were granted the rights to 500 acres of land they said they had lost 40 years ago. The Israeli government took over the area from residents of Burka in the West Bank. It was used to build the Chomesh settlement, which was bulldozed eight years ago during the Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, but the original owners were barred from returning.

Last week, the military lifted those restrictions and allowed the farmers back onto their land.
