Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) defended embattled Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) on Thursday amid the ongoing controversy over recent remarks by the freshman lawmaker that have been widely condemned as anti-Semitic.

Pelosi said Omar’s comments invoking the anti-Semitic “dual loyalty” trope were insensitive, but are no indication that Omar — one of two Muslim women to join Congress this year — harbors ill feelings towards Jewish people.

“I don’t think that the congresswoman perhaps appreciates the full weight of how it was heard by other people, although I don’t believe it was intended in an anti-Semitic way,” Pelosi told reporters at the Capitol. “But the fact is, if that’s how it was interpreted, we have to remove all doubt.”

  1. (Tea Party PAC) – The New York Times, a once world-renowned paragon of journalistic integrity, has turned into a shamefully anti-Trump outlet determined to spin everything against the President’s favor.
Just one month after declaring there was “no emergency” at the border, the notorious NYT is now reporting the border is at a “breaking point.”
In their coverage of the President’s State of the Union address last month, the NYT reported that the president’s claim that there was an “urgent national crisis” at our border.
“This is false,” a real-time fact check from Times told its readers, relying on a non sequitur about individuals attempting to cross the border, while still admitting, at the bottom of the fact-check, that “record number of families have tried to cross the border in recent months.”
At the time, this farcical “fact check” was widely mocked for its absurd attempt to downplay the “record number of families” somehow doesn’t equal a legitimate crisis.
Now, just one month later, they ironically report that our border is at a “breaking point.”
“The number of migrant families crossing the southwest border has once again broken records, with unauthorized entries nearly doubling what they were a year ago, suggesting that the Trump administration’s aggressive policies have not discouraged new migration to the United States,” the Times reports.
“More than 76,000 migrants crossed the border without authorization in February, an 11-year high and a strong sign that stepped-up prosecutions, new controls on asylum and harsher detention policies have not reversed what remains a powerful lure for thousands of families fleeing violence and poverty.”
That’s right–as they concede to covering the spike in illegal border crossings, they make sure this is only under the conditions that they blame Trump for it.
Can you even believe this? They will support the Democrats’ position on anything that opposes Trump, and then blame him for the bad results of those positions!
All the while, our border remains insecure as the Democrats fight tooth and nail to stop the President from keeping Americans safe.

    • Not really, it was a liberal newspaper, it was serious in its journalistic analysis (which no longer is, I think, but I don’t quite read it regularly so I hardly would know) but it always held – proudly – a leftist viewpoint. There is no such thing as neutral journalism, NYT always stated, and I agree completely.

  2. Pelosi has just lost all credibility. Let her stay in the 12th district and leave us all alone already. Why should she be allowed to destroy this Nation?

  3. you’re gonna feel even more confident in 2020 when Republicans re-gain control of all of the United States Government without the SOCIALISTS

  4. That’s what I like about the democrats they never flinch. Spit in their face and they will claim that it’s raining the republicans should learn from them

  5. “…if that’s how it was interpreted…”
Note the subtle shifting of the condemnation for Rep. Omar’s antisemitic statements to instead faulting the “interpretation” of her innocent-as-driven-snow statements.
Shame on Rep. Pelosi and all other Democrats who refuse to unequivocally and unambiguously condemn Rep. Omar’s repeated, unmistakably antisemitic statements.

  6. P.S.
FWIW, I am fully, 100% confident that she IS a stinking, lowlife lying Jew-hater.
I appreciate that our fellow Americans are open-minded enough that they elected a black, immigrant, Muslim woman to office (yes, really). It’s too bad that same woman doesn’t extend that level of tolerance to Jews, be they Israeli, American, or other.

  7. As confident as she was when selling Obamacare to the House, saying that one must vote for it, to see what it’s about? For some odd reason, her confidence doesn’t inspire me.

  8. Omar is related to the Hebrew word omer , saying. Maybe Hashem is afflicting us with this person is so we can do teshuva, especially in what we are saying.

  9. Two Important Ideas to Keep in Mind
    1) With this overwhelming and unprecedented support from the US House of Representatives for the pro Arab and pro BDS movements West (Eisav/Edom/Rome) meets East (Yishmael/Islam) as never before seen so openly, blatantly, and shamelessly. (The first time in history there was such a pact was during WWII between Germany and the Grand Mufti)
    2) It is well known that the final stage of our long galus will be under the control of Yishmael.

  10. as my friend said, the problem with nancy is that she is missing a sluggo. remember that silly couple from the comics when we were little kids?

  11. how is it possible for her not to be antisemitic if she was raised in a culture which preaches hatred? from infancy on, muslims have been indoctrinated with their religion’s vile values. i wonder if islam has any other values besides hatred of jews. has anyone ever heard them preach kindness, morality, gratitude, helping others?
