House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said she’s 100 percent confident that Democrats will take over the House in Tuesday’s midterm election.

“We’re going to win, based on data,” Pelosi of California said at the Democratic campaign headquarters in Washington. Voters “are inspired by our candidates, which is why they are getting out there to vote.”

The minority leader, who would likely regain the speaker’s gavel if the election goes Democrats’ way, said the elections are very close and the fate of the House could hinge on about 25,000 combined votes in swing contests.

She admitted she was wrong two years ago in predicting that Hillary Clinton would win the presidency, but said the difference was that Clinton won the popular vote while losing the electoral college. This time, the popular vote is what counts, she said.

Pelosi said the coming success is largely due to Democrats’ decision two years ago to focus on protecting the Affordable Care Act and make it the centerpiece of the campaign.

“We made our own environment to make sure the people knew the difference between Republicans and Democrats on this issue,” she said.

Pelosi said a Democratic House would work with President Donald Trump next year and strive for unity, an indication she would steer her party away from an impeachment attempt.

“We are not going after the Republicans the way that they came after us,” she said. “We are not them; we are the Democrats.”

  1. Well, Hillary already declared the Democrats the winner.
Remember when Newsweek and the Maariv in Israel reported Hillary’s winning with “Madam President” having prepared the material in advance?
