Israeli President Shimon Peres went to be menachem avel the family of Chacham Ovadiah Yosef today in Har Nof.
Peres, during his visit, praised Chacham Ovadiah’s huge following and said that the niftar‘s greatest and enduring legacy was his love for Klal Yisroel.
“The most moving hesped for Rav Ovadia Yosef was that of the people,” said the president. “An entire nation, all classes, across political camps and from all over the country, came to Yerushalayim for the levaya. He truly loved Am Yisroel and only wanted to unify them.”
