A few weeks ago, the English principal of Yeshiva Mevakshei Hashem, Rabbi Gartenhaus, launched a write-a-thon project where students choose an organization they wish to raise funds for. The 4th grade students chose Achim B’Yachad – Chai Lifeline as their cause.

Part of the project entailed that the children wrote letters and created an exhibit of creative miniatures depicting what Chai Lifeline accomplishes in hospitals and in Camp Simcha to inspire their families and friends to donate.

The efforts and heart the students invested really paid off as they reached an astronomical amount of $7054!

Achim B’Yachad arranged a beautiful appreciation pizza party in the main Chai Lifeline office in Manhattan where the kids were shown videos of past events done By Achim B’Yachad for the children and their families.

Rabbi Simcha Scholar, Executive Vice President of Chai Lifeline spoke to the students, expressing his gratitude in the name of 5500 families that are being serviced daily by Chai Lifeline. He went on to explain to them what goes on within these walls and what it means to them that kids their age are eager to help another yid in pain.

Hershy Katz, Director of Achim B’Yachad congratulated the kids for raising such an enormous amount of money for the children of Achim B’Yachad – Chai Lifeline , encouraging them to continue doing such chesed and introduced to them the Kids Helping Kids program.

Each student proudly left the office with a personal Achim B’Yachad Volunteer garment bag. Rewarding young children for their efforts in helping others who are not as fortunate, will hopefully aid in spreading awareness for this incredible cause.
