During Sunday evening, left-wing demonstrators targeted Energy Minister Yisrael Katz (Likud) with acts of aggression as he was leaving a conference in Tel Aviv. The protesters resorted to spitting at him and hurling insults such as “Pig,” “fatso,” and “a friend of Putin’s.” To ensure his safety, Katz was escorted away from the scene by Yasam forces, the riot police unit dedicated to security, crowd control, and special operations.
The disturbance didn’t stop there, as the left-wing protesters continued to disrupt Minister Katz’s speech, screaming and attempting to prevent him from delivering his remarks.
Responding to the incident, Katz expressed his resolve, saying, “Tonight, I took part in the lighting ceremony commemorating the 100th anniversary of Tel Aviv’s first electrification. Facing me were the protesters of darkness, shouting curses and, as it turns out, even resorting to spitting. I will not be deterred by violence disguised as democracy. I will persist in building our nation according to my path and vision.”
Transportation Minister Miri Regev voiced her condemnation of the attack, stating, “I strongly condemn the assault on Israel Katz this evening. The State Attorney’s Office may ignore it, the media may attempt to normalize it, and the left may embrace these lawbreakers, but we will prevail. To all my fellow right-wing supporters, true leadership is tested in such moments. We have come to govern, not to apologize.”
MK David Bitan (Likud) also denounced the violent attack, emphasizing the need to put an end to the demonstrators’ aggressive behavior. He stated, “I strongly condemn the violent attack against Minister Israel Katz at the ceremony in Tel Aviv this evening. The demonstrators’ use of violence exceeds all boundaries, and it must be halted.”
MK Kathrin Shitrit expressed her solidarity with Minister Katz, deeming the incident intolerable and asserting that all limits had been crossed.

Total shameful sham.
The credit for the spar in Zion today is rude.
This is getting dangerous. It will only get worse until someone really gets hurt. I blame Netanyahu for allowing these leftist pigs to wreak havoc on members of Likud. Isn’t there law and order in Israel? Isn’t there a department of Justice? Does the Shin Bet do anything to protect active Knesset members? Are there any prosecutors in Israel? No arrests, no nothing?! A lawless Nation, almost like south Detroit or San Francisco. Are they hoping for another Rabin?
