us-airwaysA U.S. Airways flight had some difficulty early this morning when its landing gears failed and it was forced to perform something of a ‘belly flop,’ while landing at Newark International Airport.

The plane, which had taken off from Philadelphia at 11 p.m. Friday night, circled the airport several times attempting to get landing gears to extend before simply landing anyway.

It had 31 passengers and three crew members aboard. They were all evacuated by bus to the terminal they had intended as a destination. No injuries were reported, and the incident is being investigated. Read more here.
