Arye Deri — head of the Shas party, Israeli minister of health and the interior and deputy prime minister — filled in for Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu on Friday as the prime minister underwent a medical procedure.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Netanyahu underwent an abdominal examination on Friday.
The office said that this was a routine test that included monitored sedation for a short period.
It was stated that Deri filled in for Netanyahu “in accordance with the coalition agreements.”
