Israeli Police have confirmed that they have arrested an 18-year-old Arab who committed today’s stabbing of a 60-year-old chareidi man near Shaar Ha’arayos in Yerushalayim.
The terrorist – who had been wearing jeans and a black coat – had been hiding in a basement after he changed his garb following the The attacker fled the scene and a manhunt ensued.
Security cameras in the Old City were used to track the suspect and finally corral him.
The assailant confessed during interrogation to the crime.
The incident took place at about 10:20 p.m. in the Muslim quarter.
The victim is at Shaarei Tzedek Medical Center in moderate and stable condition.
