Investigators are probing whether speed played a role in the horrific two-bus collision in Queens that left three people dead and 16 injured Monday, MTA Chairman Joe Lhota said.
“As we have observed, these buses spun around — that requires an enormous amount of speed,” Lhota said during a press conference at the scene of the collision involving an MTA bus and a private tour bus.
Two of the three fatalities — the tour bus driver and an MTA bus passenger — died at area hospitals, while a pedestrian on the sidewalk, who became pinned under one of the buses, was killed at the scene, according to officials. Read more at NY POST.
