Bloomington police say two people were stabbed during an “interrupted theft” in a Macy’s dressing room at the Mall of America.
Bloomington Police Chief Jeff Potts said 20-year-old Mahad Abdiaziz Abdirahaman had gone into a dressing room in an attempt to steal some property. Two adult male victims were later brought to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Abdirahaman also sustained “minor, superficial wounds” and was transported to jail.
The Mall of America issued a statement Sunday night, saying:
“This evening during an interrupted theft inside Macy’s Mall of America, two people were stabbed and sustained non-life threatening injuries. One person is in custody and Bloomington Police is conducting the ongoing investigation. Our thoughts are with the families involved. Read more here.
