One out of five charedi voters is planning to back a non-charedi party in this year’s Knesset election, according to a poll published Wednesday morning.

The poll, conducted by Dialcom on behalf of the Kav Itonut chain of local newspapers, surveyed 675 charedi voters on how they plan to vote in the April 9th election.

While the overwhelming majority said they planned to vote for one of the charedi parties, 20.1% said they would not.

Of the roughly 80% who said they would vote for a charedi party, 47.3% said they would vote for the United Torah Judaism party, while 30.5% said they would vote for the Sephardic Shas party, with just 20.4% backing former Shas chief Eli Yishai’s Yahad party or some other charedi faction.

  1. context! the average frum yid hangs up when a pollster calls , so what type of yid takes the fe min to answer the q’s ? someone who is more in tune with politics and follows it closely, so of that specific group you have a 20% its not an accurate reflection on the group as a whole secondly 675 respondents is not a big number which may include so meah shearim which dont vote at all …depends how the q’s were phrased

  2. I also wouldn’t vote for frum parties. Let the tzyionim take over and come after us with all of their might AND THEN FINALLY WE WOULD UNITE AND BEAT THEM !!!! TOO MUCH MACHLOKES !!!!!!!

  3. Perhaps enough frum people realized that there are too many leftist “askanim” masquerading as chareidi politicians. If anything, it is time for the chareidi parties to purge the leftists in black hats. Otherwise, even more chareidi voters will feel disenfranchised.
