Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo is well positioned to win re-election on Tuesday, despite a tightening in the race, according to a Siena Research Institute poll.
The two-term incumbent is collecting 49 percent of the vote in Sunday’s poll, while Republican challenger Marc Molinaro is at 36 percent, the three third-party candidates are splitting 7 percent and 7 percent of voters are undecided.
Cuomo’s margin is down 9 points from a month earlier, but still well outside the poll’s margin of error of 3.9 percentage points.
