bloombergMayor Michael Bloomberg is listed by Forbes Magazine as the city’s richest person and now New Yorkers have ranked him the best mayor in thirty years, according to a new survey.

In a new Marist poll conducted last week, New Yorkers voted Bloomberg as the city’s best mayor in three decades with 38 percent of the vote.

Meanwhile “America’s Mayor,” Rudy Giuliani, landed in second place with 31 percent.

Former mayor Ed Koch — who often asked the city, “How am I doing?” — garnered 15 percent of the vote, while David Dinkins had nine percent of the vote. The remaining seven percent asked were unsure.

Marist College also found that 65 percent of the voters believe Bloomberg’s third term will not significantly change from his past two terms. Bloomberg currently has an approval rating of 56 percent.

“Mayor Bloomberg has been able to keep his approval rating intact despite governing during difficult economic times. Compared with his predecessors, so is his legacy,” said Lee Miringoff, Director of The Marist College Institute for Public Opinion.

  1. I think Bloomberg has these polls made up for him. Remember before the elections when every single poll showed him getting 20% more of the vote than he actually did.
