Ex-Secretary of State Mike Pompeo expressed his support for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis after former President Donald Trump nicknamed the Republican “Ron DeSanctimonious” during a Pennsylvania rally for GOP gubernatorial and Senate candidates, the NY Post reports.
“Not tired of winning. @GovRonDeSantis you’ve proven conservative policies work. Florida is better for it. Vote for @GovRonDeSantis,” Pompeo wrote on Twitter.
It came after Trump took aim at the governor — the person who will most likely be his toughest political foe in 2024 — while rallying in Latrobe, Pa., last night. With Trump Force One as a backdrop, the former president urged Republican voters to oust Democrats across the board during Tuesday’s elections, and began reading off his own poll numbers from a jumbo screen nearby.
“We’re winning big, big, big in the Republican Party for the nomination like nobody’s ever seen before,” Trump said. “There it is, Trump at 71 [percent]. Ron DeSanctimonious at 10 percent. Mike Pence at 7 — oh, Mike Pence doing better than I thought,” Trump continued at the rally for gubernatorial candidate Doug Mastriano and Senate hopeful Dr. Mehmet Oz.

sorry Donald – we’re voting for DeSantis 2024
Trump will eventually be indicted by the democrats. He will not be legally allowed to run for President.
This is setting up for a nice DeSantis Pompeo 2024 ticket. I like it. I would like to see the true conservative Mike Pence in the mix as well. Trump is making a lot of noise just like a spoiled 5 year old. All fluf and nothingness. His arrogance precedes everything he does. He was a good Manhattan limousine liberal President. His time has come and gone. Time for a true conservative to take the reigns of this country. Hopefully with siyata dishmaya we will be zoche to have one.
While I agree DeSantis is a better choice, the dems indicting Trump won’t block his ability to run for president. Check Dershowitz on the subject as well as Mark Levin. Both agree it wouldn’t block Trump legally. It might make it difficult for him to be successful, but not illegal.
“I would like to see the true conservative Mike Pence in the mix as well.” Not even after techiyas hameisim.
This is not good news at all. If Trump is the candidate, it will be a very testy contest, with the media (no matter how big the “Red Wave” is, the media will still be 99% Blue) making it very difficult for him to win. Trump has two major problems that make him hard to elect: he has an ego the size of Montana, and he has a big dumb mouth (like the unnecessary dig at Pence quoted in the article; or like feeling the need to give DeSantis a nickname).
A better option, if Republicans take the house and the senate, would be to impeach both Biden and Harris (there are certainly more legitimate reasons to impeach them than there were for Trump), and then get DeSantis in without an election. He’ll then have almost two years to “prove” himself. If he’s good, he’ll be elected in 2024, and if not, Trump can jump in if he is able.
The background here that you shmendriks don’t know is that DeSantis has met with some of the anti-Trumpers including former house speaker Paul Ryan who was very very happy to lose elections as long as he had his position. Hence the comment about Ron DeSantis.
The governor can be a powerhouse in Conservative party. He needs to stay away from the people such as former Congressman Ryan who wants to use him to get at Trump.
No mention that Desantis called Trump: “damaged goods” and a “relic” and tried to turn the military against Trump saying, he had to pick which battles to fight and which to put on the back-burner.
Desantis is another Republican politician, liar, like the Bushes who cares only about himself, while Trump is totally for the people – which nobody can deny. No way does Desantishave a chance, unless he gets the dead votes “Biden” got.
Hope when President Trump officially get back he’ll get rid of the traitor Pompeo.
Trump’s big mouth could likely land the Republicans in deep trouble come Tuesday. With him, it’s always “my way or the highway” and nobody who dances to even a minimally different tune has any place in his egomaniacal schemes. He’s not a Republican, he is a Trumpablican, except for the sycopanths whom he has mysteriously bedazzled.
