Oh President Obama. No.
The president took a smiling selfie with British Prime Minister David Cameron and Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt at Nelson Mandela’s memorial this morning, and the Internet is not happy. Neither, for that matter, was Michelle Obama.
In fairness to Obama, today’s memorial was considered a celebration of Mandela’s life, including music and dancing.
Twitter pretty much exploded with comments like “tacky,” “not appropriate,” “the worst thing ever”-and the Tumblr “Selfies at Funerals” said “our work here is done.”
Did Obama finally learn the lesson that selfies will always be on the wrong side of history? Read more at The New York Daily News.

Seriously, this president of hours is a disgrace. No honor. No respect.
Thanx Matzav for the picture.
Pure and simple. NO SAICHEL!!!
disgusting
This is not poor taste as he is low class and knows no better
He releases file photos of him at his desk with his feet on the table withhomself in jeans and a windbreaker
he has taken the presidency which was allways classy and brought it down to the gutter
An incompetent prez
And israel has to trust him!!!!!
I think it is like the commentary of time being refreshed with a spatula of limited edition. Not my worry though. He can still be the president of the USA.
Why would you expect different? Just because he’s working for us and we’re paying for this?
What’s worse in my opinion than what the President did, is Matzav giving this story credence. It does not belong on a Yeshivish website. period.
one picture is worth a thousand ….
Much to do about nothing. What’s the big deal???? Come’on guys!!!! The place was a circus with everyone singing and dancing. It was not a somber gathering at all.
Matzav now officially becoming the drudgereport.
This picture is not Tzniusdik.
Guys, please do some research.
This wasn’t a funeral, it was a rock star-laden celebratory memorial. This event was four hours long, and people weren’t crying. This was a happy celebration of a life “well lived”. You can probably watch much of it online, and then you’ll understand that this picture wasn’t at all out of place.
If were a place of mourning, sure, this picture would be worth a thousand words. But out of context like this, it’s just narishkeight.
#3 Intentional or not you got it. Er voint a leben of chayai sha-ah.
I’m more disturbed with Matzav’s decision to post the picture.
nobody knows how to crop pictures at matzav. hamayvin yavin..
go matzav!
I think everyone is missing the point: It doesn’t really matter if it was a funeral or a birthday party – the president shouldn’t be acting like a 14-year-old… EVER!
In case nobody noticed, it was the Danish Prime Minister taking the selfie, not our own President. Perhaps he just didn’t want to insult another head of state. After all, Europeans have traditionally been strong allies of the US.
