Demonstrators gathered Monday night at the Bar Ilan Junction in Yerushalayim to protest authorities’ intention to perform autopsies on the bodies of two infants who died earlier in the day at a daycare facility in the Romema neighborhood.

The protest took place as the families of the infants voiced their opposition to the procedure. Participants shut down major thoroughfares in the area, bringing traffic to a standstill.

Angry demonstrators blocked the intersection of Bar Ilan and Yirmiyahu streets, halting buses and private vehicles, and some were heard shouting insults at police officers, including calling them “Nazis.” Police later moved in to clear the intersection, using force to disperse the crowd and reopen the roads.

At the same time, the Institute of Forensic Medicine completed initial external examinations of the infants. Officials said the examinations did not determine a cause of death, prompting prosecutors and police to seek approval for full autopsies to establish what led to the tragedy.

Authorities also confirmed that three caregivers who operate the daycare center were taken in for questioning as part of the criminal probe into the circumstances surrounding the infants’ deaths.

The daycare manager’s attorney, Uri Korb, said: “Our client has no knowledge of how this terrible and tragic disaster occurred, and she is fully cooperating with the investigation in order to assist in clarifying the circumstances of the incident. We trust the law enforcement authorities to carry out their work.

  1. In 2020 when thousands were murdered in hospitals, the Health Dept refused to make autopsies on them? WHY? If so, why are they insisting on autopsies for these 2 babies?

  2. Thank you for the Kanoim the protectors of Yiddishkeit in Israel. Oy vah voy how Israel would look without them H”Y.

    • It would look a lot more religious. Do you call a Jew who eats chazer religious? Do you call a Jew who is mechallel shabbos religious? The bogeyman of the chareidi mindset is driven by hashkofah, not halacha. These protests are mazik the rabim. Public transportation in beit shemesh today is SHUT DOWN. And what will the hafganah accomplish other than to give people another excuse to dislike the self proclaimed defenders of the faith? These are street thugs – nothing more.

  3. Thank you for the Kanoim the protectors of Yiddishkeit in Israel. Oy vah voy how Israel would look without them H”Y. The only ones who care for the Kedushah and spirituality of Israel. If not for them, Israel would not look any better than Paris, London and Times Square.

  4. One of the leading Gedolim of America said prophecy: There will be era that a chareidi Jew will not be able to live in Israel. His prophecy materialized to the tee. If not prophecy than Chochom adif miNavi.

  5. Due to the ongoing draft situation, there are (too) many professional, experienced protestors in the chareidi community. They can hang up signs and gather at a moments notice, protest for any cause you want as long as it is something marginally to do with religion. They are well versed in police tactics, police evasion. They know how to gather and rile up a crowd as well, and create the maximum impact for your cause. Just call ………. And for a nominal fee, they will gather a group of bored bachurim looking or action, who will protest your cause in the name of the gadol of your choice.
Do you think these protestors will ever retire, or they will find something else to protest about?
A monster has been created, that will soon break free from its cage entirely, if it has not yet done so already.

  6. everyone should go out and protest against autopsies. There is no reason they need to do them, other than to try to find anything to use against the ganenets. And they won’t find anything.

  7. Actually, the protesters are not bored bachurim but choshuva bachurim, many of which are talmidei chachamim. Protesting in Israel is the ONLY way to get things done. The only language the Tziyonim understand. It will continue until the Tziyonim will be gone.

    • you mean to say they would be talmidei chachamim if they would not be so busy protesting. and even if protesting is the only langauge tziyonim understand, so what? if nivul peh was the only langauge tziyonim understood, would you sanction frum ppl talking to them in nivul peh? the physical violence, hefkeirus, yelling etc. that each protestor engages in by the protests, sears their neshama like nivul peh does.

  8. Autopsies are done regularly within the Frum world. Any time there is suspect fo foul play. Chevra Kadisha members supervise for Kavod hameis. It’s done, for example, in America on every single SIDS or probable SIDS death. Misaskim or CSE are on hand for the entire procss. This is not a new idea, not in America or anyplace else.
