CNN’s Jim Acosta said Sunday that he and numerous other White House correspondents have received death threats from supporters of the president while covering the Trump administration.

“I am not the only reporter who covered this White House who has had death threats,” Acosta said on CNN’s “Reliable Sources” Sunday. “We can’t be at a place in this country where political reporters, White House correspondents, need bodyguards to cover political campaign events.”

“It is just a pervasive hostility and anti-democratic hostility towards the process that I just hope we never receive the likes of ever again,” he added. “It is just so damaging and destructive for our democracy.”

  1. Why, he never head any issue with Republicans that were threatened with physical harm that he and his network instigated. Why then should he be any different? Equality we must demand!

  2. Meh.
Is this a news story or an editorial- If it’s a news story it rates pretty high on the who cares list of uninteresting stories- some reporter claims reporters are threatened… okay… also the title is inappropriate as as it is not reporting the facts- a line could have been said in the news story that he has not corroborated his allegations but writing PROVE IT in all caps indicates that the title writer is assuming he’s lying which is an editorial not reporting straight facts. However, as an editorial it also does a pretty bad job as the only lines to the uncompelling editorial are the two words in the title of PROVE IT.

  3. First of all, for a lot of people, watching CNN can be an actual near-death experience, if not death itself; and THAT experience is worse than a death threat. Secondly, is CNN telling me that Conservative media outlets never get death threats from the fringe-left, and the supporters of the left-wing politicians?
