The motive of the Iraq War veteran who was undergoing evaluation for PTSD shot and killed three people and wounded 16 before killing himself on Wednesday remains unknown.
Army Secretary John McHugh said today that there appears to be no connection to terrorism, and that he was examined by a psychiatrist last month and was found to show no violent or suicidal tendencies.
The Pentagon identified him as Army Specialist Ivan Lopez. Fort Hood was the site in 2009 of a mass shooting that led to 13 deaths. Read more at The Daily Beast.
