Rav Sholom Yosef Wachsman z”l

It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the passing of Rav Sholom Yosef Wachsman z”l.

Rav Sholom Yosef was a tremendous talmid chochom who was born in Europe and survived the Holocaust before settling and raising a family in Boro Park.

R’ Sholom Yosef leaves behind an illustrious family, including his sons, Rav Mendy Wachsman of Monsey, editor of the ArtScroll Talmud Yerushalmi series, Rav Ephraim Wachsman, rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Meor Yitzchok of Monsey, and Rav Pinchos Wachsman, R”M at Bais Medrash Heichal Dovid at Yeshiva Darchei Torah in Far Rockaway.

The levayah is being held now at John F. Kennedy International Airport, Cargo area D, Building 75, located at 75 North Hangar Road in Jamaica, NY. The aron will then be flown via El Al for kevurah in Eretz Yisroel.
