It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Rabbanit Yael Cohen a”h. She was 78 years old.
The rebbetzin was the wife of Chacham Shalom Cohen, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivat Porat Yosef in Yerushalayim and nosi of the Moetzet Chachmei Hatorah of the Shas party.
Rabbanit Yael had been hospitalized since last Monday at Mayanei Hayeshua Medical Center in Bnei Brak. She passed away early this morning.
The rebbetzin was born on 26 Kislev תרצ”ח to her parents, Chacham and Rabbanit Mansour Ben Shimon. Chacham Mansour was a respected Sefardic chacham and mashpiah.
The rabbanit was a humble ishah chashuvah who devoted her efforts to allow her husband to be fully engaged in harbotzas Torah and tzorchei haklal. She was a baalas chesed with an open heart who helped so many people during her lifetime.
The levayah will be held at 2:15 p.m. at Yeshivat Porat Yosef in Yerushalayim, followed by kevurah at the Sanhedria Cemetery.
