This is a man who was larger than life . A brilliant guide, a rock, -a balancing act- the warmest person and a true leader. A legend. A giant. Our guide, a brilliant communicator, a master mechanech, and so so cherished for all who were fortunate enough to know him
The owner, the master came to his garden and plucked out his most stunning rose and we can’t know why

I had the honor of working with Rabbi Oberlander while I was an EMT in Camp Rayim. I believe he was the head counselor for 25 years. I never met a distinguished down to Earth Rabbi of his nature. He reminded me of Rabbi Kaminetsky, who served as the director of Mogen Av-Both kind, considerate, humble, friendly, true gentleman. An example of Rabbi Oberlander anivus is that Camp Rayim was a huge camp with daunting hills yet he never used golf carts. He would walk up and down those hills multiple times always checking to make sure the campers were okay and the counselors were doing their jobs. One time, despite his busy schedule, his son got hurt and in a split-second the the Rabbi turned to a caring father. Rabbi Oberlander will be sorely missed! Rabbi Oberlander was a legend!!
