  1. BDE. About 25 years he saw I missed my bus and offered me a ride down Coney Island Avenue.Talking to him in the car I was so impressed by his Middos Tovos and personality that I was certain the person I’m getting the ride from was a major Rosh Yeshiva or Godol.(It was only towards the end of the ride that he told me his name.)Until today, or perhaps specifically today, that I’m no longer a Yeshiva Bocher but rather working like he was, his behavior during that car ride remains something for me to emulate.

May he be a meilitz Yosher for us this Rosh H’shona

  2. wish we would just do teshuva already, instead of watching our leaders & people keeping the world up,being niftar R”L

May his neshama have an aliya

  3. About thirty five years ago I was waiting on Tenth and Madison in Lakewood for a bus to Port Authority to take another bus to La Guardia airport. A very friendly Yid offered me a ride to Brooklyn. When he discovered my true destination he insisted on driving me all the way to the airport. I discovered later this Yid was Rabbi Kamenetzky. Yehi Zichroi Boruch.

  4. Fifteen years ago, my wife and I attended a wedding in New York. Following the wedding as we were heading for the bus ride back to Baltimore, my wife suffered a heart attack. Hatzalah responded immediately and took her to the hospital.
Rabbi Avrohom Kamenetsky approached me and insisted that i stay at his home. His son-in-law, Rabbi Moshe Zywica drove me to the hospital and waited until my wife was admitted, He then drove me back to the Kamenetsky home.
Each morning we went to shule and the rabbi loaned me a pair of tefillen. Every day, Mrs. Kamenetsky prepared a bag lunch for me and the rabbi drove me to the hospital. Each evening, he picked me up.
When my wife was well enough to travel, we expressed our thanks and deep appreciation for all their kindness. It was then that Rabbi Kamenetsky told me that the bed I had slept in was where his latr father Rabbi Yaakov Kamenetsky had slept and the Teffillen that I had worn were those of his father,
Rabbi Avrohom Kamenetsky and Rabbi Moshe Zywica were truly “Malachay Rachamim”.
May the family be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem. Yhat zichro baruch!
