It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the passing of Rabbi Menachem Rottenberg z”l. He was 96 years old.

Originally a resident of New York, he served for over three decades as Executive Director of the Yeshiva of Central Queens. He was instrumental in making it the largest day school in Queens today.

Reb Menachem later lived in Lakewood for many years and was integrally involved in the growth of Lakewood largest elementary girls school, Bais Faiga. Reb Menachem was an important friend of the Lakewood Cheder/Bais Faiga, taking a personal interest in the school’s needs.

His support and encouragement were indispensable in facilitating the growth of the Cheder and Bais Faiga. In 1998, Bais Faiga’s Park Avenue campus underwent an expansion that was funded through the generosity of Mr. and Mrs. Dovid Kupperman, facilitated by Reb Menachem. Later, Mr. Kupperman dedicated the Bais Anya building of Bais Faiga in honor of his wife, Anya, again thanks to Reb Menachem’s initial involvement.

Reb Menachem leaves behind a wonderful family and bnei and bnos Torah. His children are Reb Yossi Rottenberg, Reb Aharon Rottenberg, Mrs. Dina Feldman and Mrs. Simmy Lonner.

Yehi zichro boruch.
