It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of Rabbi Mordechai Noach Mark z”l. He was 89.
A noted talmid chochom, Rav Mark was menahel of the Vaad Hakashrus of the Eidah Hachareidus for many years.
He was born in Yerushalayim on 7 Adar in 1933. His father, the late Rav Yitzchak Yosef Mark, who was the gabbai of the Perushim shul in Botei Varsha in Yerushalayim.
In his youth, he studied in the Torah institutions of the old yishuv.
He devoted his morning and afternoon hours to the study of the Torah, sitting and learning undisturbed.
He was an expert certified public accountant and handled complicated cases. In this role, he assisted many yeshivos and mosdos.
When the Kashrus Committee of the Eidah expanded, he was called by the late Rav Avraham Hakohein Roth to serve as the menahel of the Vaad Hakashrus.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Malka Mark, daughter of the late Rav Eliyahu Nosson Halevi Pollak, and his only son, Rav Uriel Mark of Bnei Brak.
The levayah was held in Bnei Brak and then at the Shamgar Funeral Home in Yerushalayim, followed by kevurah on Har Hameunchos.
