  1. His father Reb Chonye Hy”d what an extraordinary chosid, who in his youth was chosen by the Rashab zt”l to be his son the Rayatz’s Chavruse. He later served as the Rashab’s Gabai, and later as the Raytz’s Gabai. Ultimately he was killed by the communists ym”sh for the “crime” of spreading yiddishkait.
R’ Chonyes sons were (and are) all extremely special chasidisher yidden. R’ Sholom zt”l, who passed away recently was a tremendous talmid chochem, something out of the ordinary. Besides being boky in all the “yeshivshe” inyonim and im practicall haloche as well as in all the Sifrei Chasidus of Chabad, he was a mumche in Kiddush Hachoidesh and in the sugyois of Zmanim in a special oifen. Great talmidei chachomim would come to him specially to discuss these issues with him.
R’ Moshe z”l who just passed away was also a very big talmid chochom as well as being a tremendous Yerai shomayim hamedakdeik bekalo kebechamure and all beruach hachsidus. He was also mekayem “hatznei leches im elekecho” never making a big deal out of himself.
Ybl”ch the older brother R’ Mendel shlit”a is a chosid in the old style. His “farbrengens” are full of the old chsidisher chayus – still now at the age of 94 leoirech yomim, it is umbleiveble to see the way he decribes any oof the Chasidic “giants” (be it his father or r’ Itche the masmid or anyone else of that caliber) of the previous generation. He “lives” it. He always has a smile on his face and has true chsidisher varemkait.
May we all try to emulate these chasidim if of old.
