It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the passing of Rabbi Pinchos Aharon Weberman z”l, President of the Orthodox Rabbinical Council of South Florida. He was 92 years old.

Rabbi Weberman founded the Ohel Shalom congregation in Miami and served as the rov for 62 years. He served as a chaplain for Miami Beach Police for decades and was also the founder of the Miami Beach Eruv Council.

  1. it is interesting to note that he was nifterjust a couple of days after the yohrzeit of our elta elta zeida after whom he was named. he was the last cousin of his generation

    • Yes, he was niftar the week of his namesake and two days after his 93rd birthday. He still has two siblings bH, so he’s not the last cousin.

  3. I was zoche to be a Talmud of his when he gave a gemorah shiur for a short period of time in the Mesivta of Greater Miami (Louis Merwitzer High School) back in 1980/81. It was a small class for those of us that were struggling to keep up in the regular Shiur. I remember learning so well in his class. He explained everything in such an easy way for us to grasp it. Rebbe got us all involved, participating in the give and take of the sugya. He made us feel so special and that we WERE able to understand the gemorah. It was a real boost to our confidence and self esteem. I am forever grateful for that.
After not seeing him for so many years, I met him a number of years back, in Landau’s Shul in Flatbush when he was visiting here and we reminisced for a bit. He spoke to me like I was a close friend of his. He was such a nice soft spoken person. He will be missed. May his neshama have an aliyah. May his family be comforted and may they have a nechama be”h.
