It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of Rabbi Yaakov Rajchenbach zt”l following an illness.

Reb Yaakov, who resided in Chicago, Illinois, was one of the noted machzikei Torah of the Olam HaTorah, a noted baal chesed who was involved in torchei tzibbur for decades.

Humble, self-effacing, with a heart the encompassed all of Klal Yisroel, Reb Yaakov was a one-of-a-kind mokir rabbonon, machzik Torah, and baal chesed. His petirah is a tremendous loss for the greater Torah world and leaves a gaping void in the hearts of all who knew him.

Reb Yaakov humbly agreed to serve on various boards of mosdos haTorah v’hachesed in order to help in any way he could. He was an executive board member of Torah Umesorah and chairman of the executive committee of Telshe Yeshiva of Chicago.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Judy Rajchenbach, and a wonderful family of children and grandchildren, bnei and bnos Torah following in his ways.

The levayah will take place on Sunday, Tisha B’Av, at 1 p.m. (CST time/2 p.m. ET), at the JDBY Auditorium, located at 3200 West Peterson in Chicago.

Following the levayah in Chicago, the aron and the family will fly to Newark Airport. The levayah at Newark will be at 6:30 pm.

UPDATE: Due to weather delays, the levayah will not be held at Newark Airport, but instead at the Sullivan County Airport, located at 75 Co Rd, 183A, in Swan Lake, NY, at approximately 6:30 p.m.

The kevurah will be in Eretz Yisroel, at Eretz Hachaim in Beit Shemesh, at approximately 6:15 p.m. on Monday.

There will be a live hookup of the Chicago, Newark, and Beit Shemesh levayos:
Dial in: (585)308-3282 and  0-7777-1111-6
Livestream: https://www.c-live.co.il/archives/40212
