It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of Rabbi Yakov Kopel Brailofsky z”l at the age of 91.
Born in 1935 to Reb Moshe and Miriam Brailofsky, Rabbi Brailofsky was raised in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, where his dedication to Torah and avodas Hashem was evident from an early age.
A talmid of Bais Medrash Govoah in Lakewood, he had the zechus to learn under Rav Aharon Kotler zt”l. Over the years, Rabbi Brailofsky developed a deep connection with prominent gedolei Torah v’chassidus, including the previous Skverer Rebbe and the Rachmastrivka Rebbe of Boro Park.
Rabbi Brailofsky was a devoted mispallel at the Spinka Bais Medrash and the Rachmastrivka Bais Medrash in Boro Park, where his presence was a source of inspiration to all who knew him.
His life was dedicated to the chinuch of future generations. For decades, Rabbi Brailofsky taught at Yeshivas Rabbeinu Chaim Berlin as well as at the Skverer Cheder of Boro Park, imparting Torah and yiras Shomayim to countless talmidim.
He is survived by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
The levayah took place today at the Rachmastrivka Bais Medrash in Boro Park, and his aron has been taken to Eretz Yisroel for kevurah on Har Hamenuchos in Yerushalayim.
Yehi zichro boruch.
