It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the passing of Rabbi Yeshaya Cohen z”l. He was 31 years old.
Reb Yeshaya resided in Afula, where he served as a rosh kollel.
Born in Bnei Brak, he was a son of Reb Yosef Chaim and Chana Cohen.
He attended the Yeshiva Birchas HaTorah in Bnei Brak and Birkas Yitzchak in Or Yehuda. After his marriage, he settled in Modi’in Illit, before moving to Afula. In Afula, he established a kiruv bais medrash and served as the rosh kollel there with great dedication.
Yesterday, he did not feel well, and a few hours later he collapsed. Hatzolah was called to his home and paramedics performed prolonged resuscitation, to no avail.
He leaves behind his wife and five children, including a little baby who is just three weeks old.
The levayah was held in Givat HaMora in Afula and kevurah took place at the bais hachaim in Elad.
