The homes of two rabbis in New City, in Rockland County, New York, were firebombed on Tuesday night.

One device exploded under a vehicle outside the home of Rabbi Simcha Morgenstern, who serves as the associate rabbi at the Chabad of Rockland.

A second device exat about the same time in front of the home of Rabbi Avrohom Kotlarsky, director of Chabad of Rockland.

There were no injuries, boruch Hashem, but the incidents, which appear to have been coordinated, are being investigated, possibly as a hate crime, by the Clarkstown Police Department.

Evan R. Bernstein, ADL New York regional director, said, “We are outraged by this shocking incident in what appears to be the alleged targeting of two prominent rabbis, and we join with local leadership, including the Jewish Federation of Rockland County, in strongly condemning this brazen act of violence.”
