It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of Rav Aharon Fischer zt”l, rov of the Zichron Moshe Shul in Yerushalayim and a member of the Badatz of the Eidah Hachareidis. He was 78.

Rav Fischer was born in Yerushalayim, a son of the renowned posek Rav Yisrael Yaakov Fischer zt”l, author of Even Yisrael and raavad of the Badatz of the Eidah Hachareidis.

Rav Aharon received his early chinuch at Talmud Torah Etz Chaim, where he learned for both Talmud Torah and later mesivta.

He married Rebbetzin Yehudis, a daughter of the renowned Rav Yitzchok Nosson Kuperstock, author of Meoros Nosson.

After his marriage, Rav Aharon continued his immersion in limud haTorah at Etz Chaim, and in time, he was appointed as the head of the yeshiva’s kollelim. He became renowned as one of the great tzaddikim, gaonim, masmidim, and poskim of the Holy City.

Following the petirah of his father, Rav Aharon assumed the leadership of Zichron Moshe as rov, continuing his father’s legacy of Torah guidance and leadership. He also served as a member of the Vaad HaRabbanim of the Badatz of the Eidah Hachareidis. Though he was offered a position as a permanent member of the Badatz, he humbly declined, citing health concerns, and recommended that his younger brother, Rav Yehuda Fischer, take on the role instead.

In his later years, Rav Fischer’s health began to decline, and Monday evening, he was niftar, leaving Yerushalayim bereft of one of its gedolei Torah.

The levayah was held at the Zichron Moshe Bais Medrash in Yerushalayim, proceeding to Har HaMenuchos for kevurah.

Yehi zichro boruch.

if one is a chazan (ש”ץ) in a shtibel where there is no set minhag of the nusach there, (אשכנז or ספרד), e.g. zichron moshe, then you should daven the nusach of most of the people davening in your minyan. (not necessarily your nusach).
