Rav Aharon Schechter, Rav Ephraim Eliyahu Shapiro and Rav Shmuel Dishon to Address Irgun Shiurai Torah’s 8th Annual Summer Event Tonight

This evening, hundreds will gather at the Young Israel of Avenue K in Flatbush for Irgun Shiurai Torah’s 8^th Annual Summer Dinner Event. The evening will begin at 7 p.m. with a hot buffet dinner, followed by Minchah and the program at 7:30 p.m. Catering is being sponsored in honor of the Flatbush community by Mr. and Mrs. Yanky Feuereisen of Classic Caterers.

Divrei bracha at the event will be given by Rav Aharon Schechter, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Rabbeinu Chaim Berlin. The keynote speaker will be Rav Ephraim Eliyahu Shapiro, rov of Shaaray Tefilla of North Miami Beach, who will address the topic of “Gearing Up for Chodesh Elul.” Divrei chizuk will be shared by Rav Shmuel Dishon, menahel of Mosdos Yad Yisroel Karlin Stolin.

            The dinner hosts are Ari Parnes and Reuven Wolf, and the campaign chairmen are Leibish Berkowitz and Abish Brodt.

            At tonight’s event, a special video of gedolei Eretz Yisroel answering pressing shailos will be shown. Twenty five questions were posed to Rav Chaim Kanievsky, Rav Aharon Leib Shteinman and Rav Michel Yehuda Lefkowitz, and their responses will be seen at tonight’s gathering.

            The event will pay tribute to the hundreds of rabbonim and roshei yeshiva who gave shiurim worldwide through Irgun Shiurai Torah during the last year.

Hundreds will be arriving tonight from as far as Monsey, Lakewood, and the Catskills. While they will come to be inspired and to receive chizuk, they will also serve as a tremendous source of chizuk to the tireless Irgun askanim who will be there to greet them.

 Irgun Shiurai Torah is the largest harbotzas Torah organization in the world. Hundreds of thousands benefit from its wide range of shiurim and Torah seminars. Over 700 roshei yeshiva and rabbonim deliver shiurim for Irgun Shiurai Torah.

All told, over the years, more than 25,000 shiurim have been organized worldwide in over 800 shuls and broadcast to many sites all over the country where they are heard by thousands daily. These include over 1,000 people who attend the summer evening shiurim in Brooklyn, over 5,000 men and bochurim who attend bein hazemanim shiurim, over 50,000 people who participate in the Worldwide Shovavim Project annually, and hundreds of thousands who enjoy taped shiurim and live shiurim. All this adds up to millions of halachos learned through the shiurim of Irgun Shiurai Torah worldwide.

Irgun Shiurai Torah, which is led by its founder, the incomparable Rabbi Elozer Bald, arranges over 4,000 shiurim a year. That’s more than ten a day, attended by hundreds of people. These include men, women, talmidei chachomim, baalei batim, bochurim, etc. The shiurim are held all over the world, including Eretz Yisroel, Europe, America, South America, and South Africa.

“Irgun Shiurai Torah isn’t an organization,” Rav Shmuel Dishon has remarked, “it’s a movement. A movement that has caused a mahapeicha in Klal Yisroel.” 

There are hundreds of thousands of Yidden whose lives have been dramatically changed through Irgun Shiurai Torah. Irgun Shiurai Torah has created a real Torah revolution.
