Every second year, the University Heights-Beachwood Community Kollel invites an outstanding Torah personality to enhance their “Shabbos of Inspiration.” This year, the kollel has invited Rav Avrohom Schorr, the rov of Klal Tiferes Yaakov of Brooklyn. During the Oneg Shabbos on Leil Shabbos, Rav Schorr will speak to approximately two hundred fifty men and boys on “Golus Yishmoel.” During the Shabbos seuda, with reservations of five hundred sixty men, women and children already in, Rav Schorr will deliver a drasha on “The Wailing Wall Street.” These programs, including the tefillos, will be enhanced by the participation of noted baal menagein Reb Abish Brodt. Attendees of Seuda Shlishis and Motzoei Shabbos Pirchei will hear Rav Schorr, as well. Every forum of Shabbos also celebrates siyumim on masechtos that the yungeleit and baalei batim have learned. Nearly seventy mesaymim will be represented in this manifestation of kovod haTorah.
On Motzoei Shabbos, Rav Schorr will address the women of the community on the topic of “Chinuch HaBonim or Chinuch HaParents.” In addition, Rebbetzen Schorr will speak to the girls of the community on “I Was Created According to Hashem’s Will.”
In the past, these Shabbos events have been graced by HaRav Reuven Feinstein, Harav Aaron Feldman, Harav Malkiel Kotler and HaRav Naftoli Jaeger.
Kollel Yad Chaim Mordechai of Beachwood was established in 1996 in memory of Telzer Rosh HaYeshiva, HaRav Mordechai Katz zt”l.
