It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of Rav Bentzion Shilovitzky zt”l, rosh yeshiva at Yeshiva Machneh Yisroel in Yerushalayim and a resident of Neve Ya’akov. He was 76.
Rav Bentzion was a son of Rav Shlomo and Sarah Shilovitzky.
His father, Rav Shlomo learned at the Lomza Yeshiva in Petach Tikva on the eve of World War II.
Rav Bentzion’s wife is a daughter of the late Rav Moshe Charlap.
He was a talmid of Rav Shmuel Rozovsky, and after his marriage, he was from the founders of the Lomza Kollel in Petach Tikva.
He served as one of the roshei yeshiva of Yeshiva Machane Yisroel in the Bais Yisrael neighborhood of Yerushalayim, alongside Rav Aharon Feinhandler.
The levayah was held at the Shamgar Funeral Home in Yerushalayim followed by kevurah on Har Hamenuchos.
