Rav Binyomin “Hatzaddik” Finkel Named as New Mashgiach of Mir Yerushalayim

The levayah of Rav Aharon Dovid Chodosh zt”l, beloved mashgiach of Yeshivas Mir Yerushalayim, was held today at the Mir with the participation of thousands.

Rav Chodosh, a son of Rav Meir Chodosh and a son-in-law of Rav Chaim Zev Finkel, served for over 55 years as the mashgiach of Mir Yerushalayim.

At the levayah today, it was announced that Rav Binyomin Finkel has been appointed as the new mashgiach. Known as “Rav Binyomin Hatzaddik” due to his renowned righteousness and humility, Rav Binyomin is a beloved figure at the Mir. He is a son of Rav Aryeh Finkel zt”l, the late rosh yeshiva of Mir Brachfeld.

Rav Binyomin lost his wife, Rebbetzin Mina, in 2016. A year and a half later, he remarried to Mrs. Rochel Davis.

Rav Binyomin has until now served as one of the roshei yeshiva. He will now be mashgiach.
Rav Binyamin moved last year from his home in Givat Shaul to live near the Mir Yeshiva on Rechov Sonnenfeld in Bais Yisroel.
