After feeling unwell the past few days, Rav Chaim Kanievsky was taken to the hospital on Motzoei Shabbos from his home on Rechov Rashbam in Bnei Brak to Mayanei Hayeshuah Medical Center.
Over Shabbos, Rav Chaim did not go, as he customarily does, to the nearby Lederman Shul for the tefillos, but davened with a minyan in his house instead.
Rav Chaim is undergoing a battery of tests at Maayanei Hayeshuah and is expected to remain there under the watch of physicians.
Thursday night, Rav Chaim attended the engagement of his grandson, Shlomo Kanievsky, a son of Rav Chaim’s son, Rav Yitzchok Shaul, at the Vagshal Hall in Bnei Brak.
All are asked to daven and learn as a zechus for Rav Shmaryahu Yosef Chaim ben Pesha Miriam.
