rav-chaim-kanievsky-reb-shepsil-silbermanIn a most unusual occurrence, and with little fanfare, Maran Rav Chaim Kanievsky last Wednesday night paid a bikur cholim visit to his close and dear follower, Reb Shepsil Silberman, who has undergone surgery and is in process of a slow recovery at Petach Tikva’s Beilinson Medical Center.

Reb Shepsil is known to all as a great baal chessed whose smile doesn’t leave his face despite his many life challenges. He’s been a steady visitor at Rav Chaim’s home on Rechov Rashbam in Bnei Brak for many years and is famous as a regular at Rav Chaim’s home every Motzoei Shabbos for Havdalah and melava malka.

Reb Shepsil, who has suffered from kidney failure and other complications, including a recent infection that required hospitalization, ran a catering business for many years and was remarkably generous when it came to helping those who are poor and unfortunate.

Yidden may daven for Reb Shepsil Aron ben Miriam.

  1. Reb Nachman of Breslov says the major Machloikesel between Greats exist as a big Nisoyon for the average believing Yid as can be seenfrom the posted comments and as documented historically

Recounting the deeds of Tzadikim to others is the equivalent of learning together a piece of Gemara with Rashi and Tosfos (Rabeinu Bechaye, Chasam Sofer,)HN Lasry

  2. Reb Shepsil is a tzadik who suffered terribly the past few years – ???? ??? ????? ????. B”h Reb Chaim, in a very unusual way, hut em bagossen with warm Brachos. May they all be mekuyem bimeheira.

  3. I happen to know R’ Shepsil as a very special Yid who has helped so many less fortunate than himself. I recently saw an ad asking for help with his medical expenses. It would be a great Mitzvah to help him. I encourage all to do so. Contributions can be sent to Cong. Khal Zichron AL and mailed to Yossi Stern (well-known Flatbush askan)at
