Rav Chizkiyahu Mishkovsky to Undergo Heart Surgery On Sunday

Rav Chizkiyahu Mishkovsky, mashgiach of Yeshiva Gaon Yaakov and Yeshiva Orchos Torah, the yeshiva of Rav Aharon leib Shteinman, will undergo open-heart surgery this coming Sunday at the Sheba Medical in Tel Hashomer. The decision for Rav Mishkovsky to have the surgery done was reached following a series of comprehensive tests performed in Manhattan a few weeks ago.

Rav Mishkovsky is in his 60s. Well-known as one of the most prominent mashgichim of our time, he recently assumed an additional position as mashgiach of Yeshiva Rena Shel Yaakov in the city of Carmiel.

Rav Mishkovsky recently traveled to the United States to be examined by an expert doctor in New York City, and it was determined that he needs the surgery as soon as possible. The operation will be performed by Dr. Ehud Ra’anani, director of cardiac surgery at Sheba.

Rav Mishkovsky has written a moving letter to his talmidim, asking them for mechilah and requesting that they engage in davening and limud haTorah as a zechus for him.

On Motzoei Shabbos, a large atzeres tefillah will be held at Yeshiva Orchos Torah on Rechov Rabi Akiva in Bnei Brak.

All are asked to daven for Rav Chizkiyahu Yosef ben Peninah Perel.
