Over a month after the passing of Maran Rav Gershon Edelstein zt”l, late last night, Rav Dov Landau arrived for a rare visit to the home of his childhood friend, Rav Baruch Mordechai Ezrachi, in the Bayit Vegan neighborhood in Yerushalayim.
It was close to midnight by the time the Rosh Yeshivah of Slabodka arrived at the home of Rav Ezrachi. The two gedolim enjoyed reminiscing about their shared past and then requested that their talmidim and aides leave them alone so they could converse in private.
For over a half-hour, the two discussed the burning issues affecting Torah Jewry, among them the upcoming municipal elections which will be held in several months time and other compelling issues impacting the Olam HaTorah in Eretz Yisrael and around the world.
Rabbi Yaakov Grossbard, who has been a close talmid of Rav Ezrachi for decades, was present during the meeting.
When the meeting concluded, Rav Landau departed Rav Ezrachi’s home in Bayit Vegan and returned to his own home in Givat Hayeshivah in Bnei Brak.
