Rav Dovid Yosef, son of Chacham Ovadiah Yosef zt”l, member of the Moetzet Chachmei Hatorah of the Shas party, and rov of Har Nof, Yerushalayim, last night issued a strong condemnation of the decision of Prime Minister Binyomin Netanyahu and the Knesset to release Palestinian terrorists.
The remarks were made during a shiur at the Yazdim shul in the Bucharim neighborhood in Yerushalayim.
Rav Dovid attacked Netanyahu for releasing terrorists in order to find favor with the world.
“It is against halacha,” said Rav Dovid definitively. “What will we get in return? Terrorism. He goes against the Torah and he has failed time after time… He formed an alliance with the enemies of the Torah and is now releasing terrorists.”
Rav Dovid quoted a p’sak from his father, who strictly forbade the release of terrorists according to halacha.

DOes America, Israel’s closest ally, release terrorists? Bibi, what are you thinking (or not thinking?) and its not like you are going to start building in Yehuda VShomron anyway? It’s all rhetoric!!
Instead of annexing and increasing settlements. Let them not release prisoners and leave well enough alone.
Appeasement by releasing prisoners is worse for us than not increasing and annexing captured lands.
Halacha is not about the political reality of a nation but it does have a say in what we have to do with our prisoners. I do not think that the real issue is whether we are doing ourselves a favor by the release of these prisoners, but the real concern obviously is that they can do more harm. Ultimately, the wicked want to be appeased and Israel can do its best to let the wicked think that they have the upper hand. Since they are not the righteous, they will not have Hashem who is the only Power in the universe on their side.
