Rav Elimelech Halevi Belsky, rosh kollel of Kollel Zichron Yosef in Kiryat Sefer, will assume the position held by his father at Camp Agudah in Ferndale, New York, this coming summer, Matzav.com has learned.

Rav Elimelech will follow the path of his father, Hagon Rav Chaim Yisroel Belsky, rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Torah Vodaas, who famously led the Masmidim program at the Camp Agudah’s Machaneh Efraim, inspiring generations of bnei Torah.

Rav Elimelech is a renowned talmid chochom, with wide-ranging Torah knowledge, and will carry on the remarkable legacy of his unforgettable father, one of the leading Torah giants of our age, whose passing not long ago had left the Torah world bereft.

With Rav Elimelech’s erudition, middos tovos and gadlus baTorah, the transition is expected to be a seamless one, while talmidim and all of Klal Yisroel will never forget the impact of Rav Belsky zt”l.

  1. IF THE WORDING IS ACCURATE RAV ELIMELECH IS not THE MARA DASRA OF CAMP AGUDA AS IN OTHER CAMPS JUST THE ROSH OF THE MASMIDIM IN A CORNER OF THE CAMP

  2. I believe he was the first person to be named after Reb Elimelech Gavriel (Mike) Tress, the founder and builder of Camp Agudah. Someone who his father was very clise to and very inspired by. How fitting.

  3. I was in the same bunk as him in the summer of 1976. He always had exceptional middos tovos. I wish him Bracha ViHatzlacha.

  4. It is hard to imagine the Masmidim program without Harav Belsky zatzal. But this was a no-brainer. There is no Rav, Poisek, Rosh Yeshiva, etc that would be able to fill his shoes in this great program. I was a masmid some 25 years ago, and there is no one else who would sit at a barbeque or go on all the Masmidim trips. I had the zechus to learn with Hagaon Rav Belsky zatzal during that summer and I still feel the impact that summer had on my life. Harav Elimelech knew what his father did, and I am sure will continue his shiurim, as well as all the different facets that his father gave to the camp and this special program. I remember Rav Elimelech from when I learned in Torah Vodaas more than 20 years ago, and I remember his trememdous hasmadah. He surely is a fitting “Maaleh Makom” to his fathers position. I wish Camp Agudah and Harav Elimelech Belsky Shlita much hatzlacha in perpetuating his fathers legacy.
