It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the passing of Rav Eliyakim Getzel Rosenblatt zt”l, rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Kesser Torah of Queens, NY.

Rav Rosenblatt was a noted talmid chochom and rosh yeshiva, who influenced generations of talmidim through his guidance and shiurim.

Rav Rosenblatt passed on the mesorah of his rabbeim, including Rav Aharon Kotler and Rav Henach Leibowitz, to his talmidim, and to many others who heard his shiurim on recordings, as well as online, where his lectures were featured on TorahAnytime and elsewhere.

Rav Rosenblatt was also a prolific baal menagein, composing songs and using his koach haneginah to uplift and inspire.

Rav Rosenblatt, in addition to leading his yeshiva, led a kehillah in Kew Garden Hills, where every mispallel was inspired by the rov and the rebbetzin. The shul is open to one and all, and that welcoming, warm, personal and intimate environment is what endeared Rav Rosenblatt to so many people.

Rav Rosenblatt would often share how he once witnessed Rav Aharon Kotler zt”l dancing with joy because he had figured out the answer to a difficult question in Gemara. Rav Rosenblatt said that he learned what it means to toil in Torah and to learn with tremendous joy. Indeed, Rav Rosenblatt personified that simchas haTorah throughout his life.

Rav Rosenblatt touched and changed so many lives over the years with his warmth and sensitivity, transforming people who will miss him deeply.

The levaya was held today at Yeshiva Kesser Torah on Vleigh Place in Kew Gardens Hills, NY, followed by kevurah at Beth David Cemetery in Elmont, NY.

Rav Rosenblatt is survived by his wife, Mrs. Trany Rosenblatt, and their children, R’ Yaakov Rosenblatt, R’ Moshe Rosenblatt and Mrs. Batsheva Rothberg.

Yehi zichro boruch.
