The posek hador, Maran Rav Yosef Shalom Elyashiv, will undergo a battery of comprehensive tests tomorrow at Shaarei Tzedek Hospital in Yerushalayim under the direction of his personal doctors, as Rav Elyashiv displayed significant weakness over Shabbos, the cause and nature of which have not yet been positively identified.
Rav Elyashiv experienced progressive weakness several months ago, similar to the symptoms he has suffered recently. As reported here on Matzav.com, he fainted for a few moments a couple of months ago.
Back in June, Rav Elyashiv underwent successful surgery to repair a coronary artery near his heart.
All are asked to continue davening for Rav Yosef Shalom ben Chaya Musha.
