It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of Rav Menachem Yehuda Chechik zt”l. He was 70 years old.
Reb Menachem Yehuda was the eldest son of the tzaddik Rav Velvel Chechik, author of Toras Ze’ev and close talmid of the Brisker Rov.
In his youth, he studied at the Etz Chaim Yeshiva and later at the Mir.
He married his wife, daughter of the late Rabbi Moshe Goldhersh.
Since his youth, he suffered yissurim, studying Torah with diligence and mitoch hadechak for decades.
He had a remarkable mind, and knew kal haTorah kulah in depth.
He was one of the loyal talmidim of Rav Amram Blau, leader of Neturei Karta.
His acquaintances say that he was a giant among the giants.
He leaves behind four children.
His levayah was held last night at Shamgar Funeral Home in Yerushalayim followed by kevurah on Har Hamenuchos.
