It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the passing of Rav Shalom Boruch Yehuda Leibowitz z”l. He was 47 years old.

Reb Boruch Yehuda, a son of the Nikolsburger Rebbe, had battled illness for a while, and was on a respirator at a Yerushalayim hospital. After six weeks in a coma, has passed away, leaving behind his wife and six children,

Reb Boruch Yehuda was the oldest child of his parents, the Nikolsburger Rebbe and Rebbetzin.

In recent years, he moved to Eretz Yisroel, fulfilling his long-held wish to live in Eretz Hakodesh.

He is remembered for his lev tov, and for being a person who would help anyone in need. His generous words cheered up so many downtrodden people. He always brimmed with emunah and bitachon, persevering in his avodas Hashem despite many challenges.

The levayah will take place today in Yerushalayim.

Yehi zichro boruch.

    • As a close family member let me correct you. He was NOT the eldest in his family. He was the fourth of six children. He is the eldest son. In addition, to write in words what a man we are talking about would be insufficient and inadequate. He lived and breathed his Chibas Eretz Hakodesh; it reflected in his every move. His midos were impeccable. Never hurt a human being even if being so amongst people. Always with an Ayin Tov; a real Bal Seichel but always saw the positive. His Tefilla, Chessed and Torah. He was a person who was always learning and talking Torah. He was mekarev every Yid. Whatever hardships he had in his life; and he had plenty. He forgave and gave the benefit of the doubt. Never part of the hearsay Lashon Horahs.. or small talk… Everyone felt like they were his closest. Even at his Levaya; he had friends that were already in Eretz Yisroel now for days just so they are around for his family and him. The amount of round the clock Tehillim and chessed. Noone believed that this Artist; he was a rarely talented artist.. hard to find. Everything he did had art to it. Noone believed that this would be the end. With a home full of unmarried children; a very close knit and private family. Quiet and respectful people that everyone just loves. This was this special man. Hard to believe he is gone… what a loss!
