It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of Rav Shimon Hirsch zt”l, who passed away at the age of 91.
Rav Hirsch was a devoted talmid of Rav Aharon Kotler zt”l at Bais Medrash Govoah, where he imbibed the teachings and spirit of Torah that would guide him throughout his life.
For over five decades, Rav Hirsch served as a beloved rebbi in Monsey, NY, where his commitment to chinuch, harbotzas haTorah, and nurturing talmidim left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of learning from him.
Later, Rav Hirsch and his family moved to Lakewood.
His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him, as he was known for his warmth, humility, and unwavering avodas Hashem.
The levaya will take place at 10:30 a.m. at the Lutzk Bais Medrash Simcha Room on New Egypt Road in Lakewood. The aron will then be taken to Monsey, where he will be laid to rest at the Beth Tefilo Chelka there.
The family will be sitting shivah at 1158 Carolina Street in Lakewood.
Yehi zichro boruch.

I think he was a rebbe in ohr smach Monsey
I learned from him there
I had him for a substitute several times. One time for two weeks straight.
Soft and spoken gentle person he was . An old school type educator.
Is this Rav Shimon Hirsch, ZT’L, of Monsey the same Rav Shimon Hirsch, ZT’L, of Monsey, who was a great-great-grandson of Rabaynu Rav Shimshon Raphael, ZT’L, or of that same family?
Yes
