Rav Shlomo Amar Warns Against Ascending Har Habayis

The chief rabbis of Yerushalayim, Ravi Aryeh Stern and Rav Shlomo Amar, have appealed to the public not to go up to the Har Habayis, writing in a letter, “Recently, the phenomenon of Jews entering the Har Habayis has increased, and this causes many obstacles and harms the sanctity of the place.”

The rabbis said they were following in the footsteps of their predecessors and made it clear that the prohibition is also for non-Jews, but the fact that they enter does not give permission for the entry of Jews.

The rabbis concluded by calling on the public to become stronger in studying the laws of the Bais Hamikdash and the Har Habayis.
