It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the passing of Rav Shlomo Isaacson zt”l, rov of Kehillas Beis Dovid in Passaic, New Jersey. He was 72.

His father, Rav Meir Isaacson, was the second Rebbe of Romun and the Av Beis Din of Pukshin, as well as the author of Shu”t Mevaser Tov. He established his bais medrash in Philadelphia and later in Staten Island until his petirah. His mother, the late Rebbetzin Gittel, was a daughter of Rav Isamar of Nadvorna.

His grandfather, Rav Shlomo Isaacson, was a son-in-law of Rav Meir of Kretchnif. They were descendants of Rav Dovid’l of Romun, who was a brother of Rav Meir of Premishlan.

This petirah follows closely on the heels of the passing of his brother, Rav Chaim Shalom Isaacson, the Nadvorna Rebbe of Philadelphia, just a month ago at the age of 85.

Rav Isaacson was devoted to his kehillah and many sought his counsel and advice. He was known for his generosity, giving to the poor with an open hand and a full heart. He established and built his kehillah with the mission of bringing Yidden closer to their Father in Heaven, standing steadfast to continue the legacy of his forefathers. Rav Isaacson also led a kashrus agency that offers kashrus supervision of food establishments.

He is survived by his wife and his children, R’ Isamar Isaacson, R’ Levi Yitzchak Isaacson, R’ Shalom Isaacson, Mrs. Buksbaum (R’ Yehoshua), Mrs. Babad (R’ Ozer), Mrs. Mintz (R’ Moshe), Mrs. Litchfield (R’ Elimelech), and Mrs. Wolpin (R’ Yochanan).

The levayah was held today at his bais medrash, Kehillas Beis Dovid in Passaic, New Jersey,.

Yehi zichro boruch.

  1. He was very special. Always b’Simcha regardless of any personal situation. His Simchas HaChaim was contagious. A Sameach U’Misamayach. Real Ahavas Yisrael, Ahavas HaBreeyos. He was meticulous about keeping every Minhag of his ancestors without an iota of change. He will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him. Yehay Zichro Baruch.

  2. I think your information is wrong. At his brother’s levaya almost 4 weeks ago, Reb Shloima zl mentioned that his brother was 82 and he was 6 years younger than his brother.
