It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the passing of Rav Tzvi Shenker zt”l, rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Bais Dovid of Bnei Brak.
He was 80 years old.
Rav Shenker has battled illness for a while and passed away at Beilinson Hospital in Petach Tikvah.
He was a great-great-grandson of the famed mashgiach Rav Chatzkel Levenstein.
Born in Tel Aviv, he was a son of Rav Yitzchok Dovid Shenker, rebbi at Talmud Torah Toras Emes in Bnei Brak.
Rav Tzvi studied at the Ponovezh Yeshiva and became a distinguished talmid of Rav Chatzkel Levenstein and the Rosh Yeshiva, Maran Rav Elazar Menachem Man Shach.
Rav Shenker was a son-in-law of the renowned Yerushalayim maggid, Rav Shalom Mordechai Hakohein Schwadron.
Yehi zichro boruch.

Oy, terrible! He had thousands of talmidim throughout the years.
He was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago, yet he didn’t show any signs of weakness, and continued with his regular sedorim despite undergoing extremely painful treatments. He never once spoke of it in his yeshiva.
A true gadol was lost. Yehi zichro baruch.
